How do fees work on Workilo?

Consumer Charges:

Workilo charges a small fee of 6% of the service charge as well as 2.9% + 30¢ third party bank fees to keep the transaction secure.

Service Provider:

During Beta promotion service providers can list their services completely free. Once the promotion period is over, service providers will be charged a 10% per order.

How do I get paid?

As soon as you accept a project we will collect the funds from the customer. We will hold onto the funds for the duration of the project. After you complete the project, simply click on the “Mark as Complete” button and the money will be deposited to your account within 7 business days.

When you complete your first project you will be prompted to provide your bank information so that we know where to deposit the money you earned.

Our payment process ensures that you don’t have to worry about not getting paid for the services you performed. The advantage of this system is that you will never have to worry about not getting paid for a completed service because we’ve been paid in advance.



How do I set up my shop?

Setting up a shop with Workilo is an easy as 1, 2, 3 that is it.

First step is to open an account using either Facebook, Google, or email. Make sure you select the service provider option if you want to sell your services.

If you have an existing business you should enter the official name of your business otherwise we will use your first name to introduce you to customers.

Second, create your first listing of the services you would like to sell. Each listing is a unique service or a “job” you want to offer for given price (e.g. 8h of painting). Use pictures that tell a story of what you will do for your customer. You can show them before and after pictures or, you can detail the steps you will take to complete the project. The more you show through the pictures, the more trust your customer will have in your skills!

Once you upload the pictures, do the best job you can to describe the service you want to offer. Think about how customers would likely find your service.

One very important thing to note when describing your service - please make sure you accurately estimate the time required to complete the job. Some jobs can be very precise such as 8 hours of painting but with other jobs there may be unexpected things that can come up, try to round up if you think that may be the case. For example, if you think you can do a job in a 40 hours, we suggest that you put at least 50. This way customers will be surprised you finished early!

Be as descriptive as possible. The more detailed and clearer the description, the lesser the chances of misunderstanding between you and your customer. So if you are not planning on taking the garbage out with you, let your customer know upfront that this is something they will be responsible for.

If you’re bringing materials with you that are included in the prices, make sure to list them carefully.

Last step! You just need to enter your hours of operation. Your customers will be able to book your services only during your hours of operation. If you plan on working only on the weekends, or after your regular job, make sure you indicate that. Your customer will expect you to do the job during the times you list.

What can I sell on Workilo?

On Workilo you can sell any home services you like. All you need to do is provide a detailed description of the service. The more detailed description the better as it leaves less room for misunderstandings between you and your customer.

What is my Dashboard?

Your dashboard is your central command of your business. This is where the magic happens.

Here you can post and manage the listings that you're offering to customers. To add a new listing, all you need to do is click on the add listing button. Remember the more listing's you post the better chance you'll have of getting discovered. Each time you start a new project just document it, from start to finish, by taking pictures of your progress. Then just provide the cost and description. We'll make sure everyone knows about your awesome work so you can do it again. If something changes in the future you can always edit the listing.

Are my listings permanently deleted? - Instead of deleting your listing you can also archive them until you're ready.

Where do new booking's appear? - A new booking will appear in your bookings tab. You can click into each booking to manage and accept them. If something needs to change before you accept the order you can communicate directly with your customer to modify the order.

Where do I see the jobs I accept?

Once you accept the job, you will be able to see it in your dashboard. If you have more than one job in a given day it will show on the list of jobs for the day

What happens when I’m fully booked?

Once you accept the job, you will be able to see it in your dashboard. If you have more than one job in a given day it will show on the list of jobs for the When your time completely fills up with orders we will stop showing you as available to the customers. You can unblock any day of the week if you want to take more jobs on that day by simply clicking on “unblock date.” It will now appear as free day to potential customers.

How do I take time off?

If you feel like taking a day off - no problem just click on the day, and block it off using the “block date” feature. Your customers won’t be able to book services on that day.

Who can purchase my services?

Anyone can purchase your services on Workilo. We make the process easy. You can put your starting address and how far you are willing to travel (e.g. 10 miles). Consumers can look for services within their area.

How do I edit my profile?

You can always make changes to your profile. Simply go to manage shop tab in your dashboard and click on shop info. Workilo created your shop profile using your personal information which you entered at sign up or using facebook or google profile information.







How can I get reviews and referrals?

Getting references and referral is easy.

When you set up your first listing with Workilo, enter email address of clients for whom you had already performed the service. We will let them know you are looking for a review. During our beta phase we will let you get reviews from your previous customers.

After you perform a service, we will also remind your customers that they should review your service. We planned more exciting management of reviews after our Beta is over!

How can I tell my story through photos?

A picture is worth a thousand words. By uploading the pictures you give your customer the idea of what it takes to do what it is you are offering them. It gives them the ideas of how the project starts and how it progresses, what materials are needed and how messy their houses is going to get during the work.

When you upload the pictures try to show your customer how the project started, what you did and how it came together. It builds credibility in your skills and minimizes unpleasant surprises.

Your pictures can include before and after or just step by step of your project. Think about it as a step by step guide to help someone do what you do.

How does tagging help me get found?

Customer use search terms to look for product. If you anticipate how they can search for a product you are offering the better the chances of being found. When you enter the search terms during signup, think how you would try to find a given service.

Materials help you specify what materials service entail e.g wooden deck as opposed to a metal deck.

Style is your best shot at what customer will think the style of the service is. It won’t make sense for all services you offer.

How can I make professionalism my brand?

Each one of us creates our unique brand and reputation. It is one of the most valuable things we have. Same is true on Workilo’s platform.

Here are some tips that can help you build your personal brand

4.Customers can be difficult and demanding, Keep Calm and Carry on. Be respectful at all times.

5.Promote your business on social media, share your listing on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Workilo made it easy for you by providing you direct for each product.

6.Learn how to take great photos. Pictures are always good some pictures are better than others.

How do cancelations work?

Workilo’s cancelation policy strives to be fair both to consumers as well as service providers. We understand that everyone’s time is valuable and that things just happen.

Cancellation policy:

Small Projects (Orders less than $200):

Orders that are less than 200$ can be cancelled anytime before 24 hours from the start of the project and will be charged only credit card fees (2.9% + 30¢)

If the order is cancelled within 24 hours of the project start date, the credit card fee (2.9% + 30¢) as well as the Workilo fee (6%) will be charged.

If the order is cancelled 2 hours or less prior to the start time, no refund is given.

Medium Projects (Orders between $200 and $1000):

Orders that range from $200 to $1000 can be cancelled anytime before 24 hours from the start of the project and will be charged only credit card fees (2.9% + 30¢)

If the order is cancelled within 24 hours of the project start date, the credit card fee (2.9% + 30¢) as well as the Workilo fee (6%) is charged.

Large Projects (Orders greater than $1000):

All orders greater than $1000 can be cancelled anytime before 24 hours from the start of the project and will be charged only credit card fees (2.9% + 30¢).

If the order is cancelled within 24 hours of the project start date, the credit card fee as well as $100 flat fee is charged.

Can customer receive refund?

Customer can request a desired resolution of problem they encountered with a service provider. If the resolution can be addressed in form of monetary adjustment, customers can request partial or full refund subject to service provider approval.

What is the dispute system?

The dispute resolution system allows customers and service providers to resolve any issues that either customer or service provider encounters. It is a good way to avoid very awkward conversation by documenting the issues in a structured way.

Customer can request a desired resolution of problem they encountered with a service provider. If the resolution can be addressed in form of monetary adjustment, customer can request partial or full refund subject to service provider approval.

First of all, each service is extensively documented by the service providers so that customers can feel assured that the service they are requesting is indeed what they expect. Each service listing has detailed descriptions of the service spelling out exactly what will be done and what materials are provided.

Our review process allows customers also see what others have said about the service provider.
